Lord, as we recall the memory of St. Scholastica, we ask that by her example we may serve you with love and obtain perfect joy. Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

  1. Amen.

Have you read the story at "A Catholic Mom in Minnesota"? It is really interesting.

    Blessings,

  2. Dearest Bryn, I had a very beautiful friend, age 42, married with three wonderful children, whose family had been friends of ours from one parish to another that we all landed in after various moves. Her name was Cathy. Cathy was diagnosed at age 39 with a Grade III Astrocytoma brain tumor. She fought valiantly, never waivering in her faith or her sunny disposition. It was so difficult to see her wither and eventually lose her battle. Two of the greatest gifts I have ever received were given to me through Cathy. She taught me about trust and faith, about complete surrender to the Father. She wrote to me once and said [sic] "I look at all of us here on earth as God's garden. God plants the seed and different flowers grow. Sometimes he sees one that he just has to take home for himself, and if I am this flower, I am so blessed to be picked by Him. I don't want to leave, but if God wants me, I go willingly and happily."

The second thing Cathy gave me was her love of Saint Theresa of Lisieux. She has been my number one patron Saint ever since. I have called on this dear flower of Jesus many times, and she always sends roses so that I know she hears my plea. The very first time I received the rose, a red one, I was stunned, and I was an instant believer! Her life story, yes, it is very moving. Imagine, begging to go to the convent at age 14!

I love her very, very much and owe her so much gratitude, which I can repay by living a more Biblical life. I love stories about the Saints as well. I also find the stories of the incorruptables very fascinating. Have you read on these? If not, I believe you will find it most interesting.

God bless you, dear one. Have a peaceful night.
